Thank you to everyone who responded to my initial post. It's a pleasure to meet all of you!

Work persists in getting my new journal into tip-top shape. I'm hunting down icons, communities, testing various styles, and searching for a suitable mood theme. It's a little tedious, yet oddly very exciting at the same time.

I joined open_on_sunday, and, time permitting, may try my hand at this week's challenge tomorrow.

A few fics that I have (tentatively) planned... a time-travel for one or more of the female characters to meet sweet, nebbishy pre-vampire William (done before, but I'd like to have a go myself); a Xander/Tara friendship (possibly becoming more) story (I am peculiar in my love for that odd pairing, I admit); a Spike/Tara friendship/romance fic; and an AU or two that are still coming together in my thoughts.

In the meantime, I hope all of you are doing well. I look forward to continuing to meet more of you!

Hello to anyone out there looking in!

I'm working on my user info - I hope this will suffice until that goes up.

My name is Juliet O'Neill, aka "java_maiden". I'm new to Live Journal as a member, but have often read in communities. I created an account primarily to be able to participate in Katrina Aid, but plan to keep it active for fanfiction purposes.

Preferred fandoms: Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Labyrinth, Beauty and the Beast (TV show - Vincent/Catherine), and although I'm not really active in these any longer, Highlander and Doctor Who. I like gen, het, unusual pairings, humor, fluff, angst, hurt/comfort, AU/AR, and romance. I love a good, plotty story with lots of twists and turns, as well as one with great emotion and characterization.

I am a lecturer in creative writing on an as-needed basis and a customer service manager for a bookstore (have to pay the bills!). I'm also studying midwifery and practical application of hypnotism in pain control techniques. I may not do anything with that knowledge career-wise, but it's always fascinated me.

I have a deep and passionate love for music of almost every kind, but a special fondness for folk, Celtic, and "new age" (geez, such a misnomer...)

I enjoy writing drabbles, ficlets, and chaptered stories or conjoined series of stories.

I believe that's all for now. Thanks for stopping by - it's a pleasure to meet you!
